Elevating the Standard of In-Home Care
The AAging Better In-Home Care Story
AAging Better In-Home Care has a rich history that dates back to 1997 when it first began operating as Alternative Health Care, focusing on serving the community of Kootenai County in North Idaho. Under the guidance of founders Bruce and Charlene Weaver, the company quickly expanded its reach and established its main office in Post Falls, Idaho to cater to the entire North Idaho region. In response to the growing demand, AAging Better opened a second office in Sandpoint in 2005 and a third office in Spokane Valley in 2017, extending their services to the greater Spokane Metro Area and surrounding counties.
As the agency continued to evolve, it started providing services to Medicaid clients in 2005, alongside private pay and medical insurance clients. Recognizing the unique needs of veterans, AAging Better expanded its offerings in August 2008, incorporating in-home care specifically designed for veterans. This transformative period also marked a change in the company’s name to AAging Better In-Home Care, reflecting their belief that individuals experience a better aging process within the familiar comforts of their own homes.
Driven by their unwavering commitment to excellence and compassionate quality care, AAging Better In-Home Care has grown to become the largest in-home care company in North Idaho and one of the largest in the Inland Empire region. This achievement is made possible by their dedicated team of home care aides (HCAs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and caregivers. With their broad coverage across the Inland Northwest, AAging Better In-Home Care is well-equipped to deliver a comprehensive range of non-medical, in-home care services, catering to the diverse needs of individuals in nearly every corner of the region.

New Beginnings
Bruce and Charlene Weaver, the founders of AAging Better In-Home Care, dedicated over 23 years of their lives to building and nurturing the company from its humble beginnings. Their unwavering commitment, hard work, and devotion to both the staff and clients have left an indelible mark on the organization. In June of 2020, Bruce and Charlene announced their retirement, although Charlene occasionally graces the office with her unmatched knowledge and skills, always welcomed with open arms.
Taking the reins of AAging Better In-Home Care on July 1, 2020, is their son Brandt Weaver, who assumed the role of President and CEO. Brandt had been diligently working behind the scenes since 2003, playing a pivotal role in establishing a solid foundation for the company. He has taken decisive steps to elevate AAging Better to the forefront of home care agency standards. Working alongside him as the Executive Director and Direct Care Supervisor (DCS) for our Washigton state location is his wife Melissa. Melissa brings a wealth of experience, with a background spanning hospital, oncology, long-term care, and hospice pharmacy. Continually seeking growth and knowledge, Melissa possesses her B.S. in Respiratory Therapy (B.S. RRT) and is always looking to expand her expertise and deepen her understanding of the field.
